The coronavirus brought us many difficult times in this first year of the pandemic. The fear of contracting COVID-19 made most of us start working from home. There was also an immense sadness of not hug our loved ones and the uncertainty of not knowing what will happen tomorrow.

It is very likely that, during the last few months, your mental health has been affected at some point. But don’t worry, it’s normal! The important thing is to take action and help yourself.   2. Create a routine. A routine will help you maintain order and not neglect many of your essential activities, such as resting at least 7 hours, worrying about your hygiene, diet, or exercising. Being busy and focused is vital!

  3. Stay connected. The pandemic has caused us to stop visiting our friends and family. However, today there are other ways of feeling close, despite the distance. Lean on technology: make video calls, go for an online party to celebrate a birthday differently, or for an online game. If you haven’t done it yet, give it a try, you won’t regret it.

  4. Control your time in front of the screen. If your job requires you to be in front of a technological device for a good part of the day, avoid overdoing it to rest properly. The same applies to those who enjoy video games or social networks. Put a limit on it, and your mental health will thank you!

  5. Find new distractions. Having activities that make you happy will help reduce the stress or fatigue caused by the pandemic. You can paint, sing, dance, write, read, or discover new hobbies. It should just encourage you and explore. Do not forget that these activities will help your mental health, but they will never replace psychological treatment.
